Applications
MEGA fuses are a common format in automotive, marine and off-grid DC systems. This 200A/80V version suits the main DC feed between a battery bank and a large inverter or inverter/charger, where fault currents can be high and fast protection matters. The 80V rating covers common battery voltages used in residential and light commercial off-grid setups, including 12V, 24V and 48V configurations. A fuse's DC voltage rating needs to meet or exceed the system voltage; an AC rating does not apply to DC circuits, and an under-rated fuse can arc during interruption.
Installation notes
Fit the fuse into a MEGA fuseholder rated for the system voltage and current, and isolate the battery before working on it. DC wiring and overcurrent protection in battery and inverter systems should be sized and installed by someone qualified in DC electrics. Check that the fuseholder and wiring are rated to at least 200A and 80V DC before fitting.
