This current transformer measures AC current up to 100A for use with the Victron MultiPlus-II inverter/charger. It outputs a 50mA signal on a 5-metre wire-end lead, so it can be fitted at the measurement point and wired straight into the monitoring circuit without extra connectors.

How it works with the MultiPlus-II

The MultiPlus-II uses current transformer inputs to monitor AC current on the grid or generator connection. That reading is what allows functions such as PowerControl and PowerAssist to work, since the unit needs to know how much current is already being drawn before it decides how much to add or limit. The 100A:50mA ratio matches the MultiPlus-II's input specification, and the 5-metre lead gives enough reach to route the cable from the measurement point, typically the incoming live conductor at the consumer unit or distribution board, back to the MultiPlus-II terminals.

Installation notes

Fitting must be done by a qualified electrician, following safe isolation procedures and BS 7671 wiring regulations. Grid-connected MultiPlus-II systems must also meet G98 or G99 requirements where applicable. Connect the CT to the correct terminals as set out in the Victron wiring documentation, and fit it around a single conductor only, never around a bundled twin-and-earth or multi-conductor cable.
