How it works

The VE.Bus BMS watches individual lithium cell voltage and temperature and disconnects loads or charge sources outside safe limits. The BMS 12-200 is Victron's alternator-side charge controller for lithium batteries, built to manage the high current an alternator can push without harming either the alternator or the cells. This cable carries the signal that lets the VE.Bus BMS assert control over the BMS 12-200's charge input, so an overvoltage or overtemperature event is handled before the battery protection relay has to open.

Applications

Used on marine vessels and motorhomes running a lithium house bank charged from the engine alternator, and in off-grid vehicle builds where a VE.Bus BMS and BMS 12-200 need to work together. It is a required accessory wherever these two Victron units are combined in a 12V lithium system.
