The Victron BatteryProtect 12/24V-220A (BPR000220400) is an automatic disconnect device that protects 12V and 24V lead-acid and lithium batteries from over-discharge. It disconnects the load before voltage drops to a damaging level, then reconnects automatically once the battery recovers. Suited to marine, off-grid, vehicle and industrial systems.

How it works
The BatteryProtect monitors battery voltage continuously and opens the load circuit once voltage falls to a preset threshold, preventing the deep discharge that shortens battery life. When voltage recovers to the reconnect point, the load is restored automatically. At 220A it handles inverters, pumps, winches and other high-draw equipment. The remote on/off input lets a BMS or external switch take control, and the alarm output can be wired to a warning light for advance notice before load shedding occurs.
Installation notes
Fit the BatteryProtect on the load side of the battery only; it must not be used to interrupt charging current. Installation should be carried out by someone familiar with DC battery systems, with connections and fusing rated for 220A. On off-grid solar systems, check that the protection settings suit the battery chemistry in use.
