This Voltacon off-grid solar kit is built around a 3.6kW Conversol inverter with an integrated 80A MPPT charger, paired with six 550W bifacial panels and four 150Ah GEL batteries on a 24V bank. It is sized to run AC loads up to 3kW continuously, and the whole system is assembled and tested in the UK before being delivered palletised with wiring instructions and technical support.

System overview

The 24V GEL battery bank provides 7.2kWh of gross energy storage, and the bifacial panel layout can pick up additional generation from reflected light on the rear side, depending on the installation. The MPPT charger takes up to 4,000W of solar input with up to 10% overload tolerance, and can also top up the batteries from mains or a generator at up to 60A. A generator can be set to auto-start via the auxiliary contact once the battery charge drops below a set threshold.

The included mounting structure is a triangular adjustable bracket for flat roof or ground installations. Contact Voltacon before ordering if a different mounting arrangement is needed; the mounting kit can be swapped at no extra cost.

Applications

Suited to domestic off-grid properties, cabins, and backup power for homes or small commercial premises. It also works for remote sites without a practical grid connection, and for generator-backed off-grid setups.

Installation and safety

This kit must be installed by a qualified electrician, with battery connections, DC fusing, AC output wiring, and earthing carried out to IET Wiring Regulations. GEL batteries must be installed and charged within the manufacturer's specified temperature and voltage ranges. Do not attempt DIY installation of the inverter or battery system.
