The Voltacon BYM2000 is a 2000W solar micro inverter with four independent MPPT trackers, one for each connected panel. Output is 230V AC, and the IP67-rated enclosure allows outdoor mounting close to the array. This is a grid-connected micro inverter solar panels solution designed for module-level performance management.

Product overview

Where a string inverter shares one or two MPPT channels across a whole array, the BYM2000 gives each panel its own tracker. A shaded, dirty or underperforming panel does not pull down the output of the others. That matters on roofs with mixed orientations, partial shading from chimneys or neighbouring buildings, or panels split across more than one pitch.

The design is AC-coupled, so DC wiring stays short and confined to the mounting area. Only 230V AC cabling runs back to the consumer unit, which keeps high-voltage DC out of the building fabric.

PLCC communication is standard. The optional WiFi module adds module-level monitoring, so the output of each panel can be checked through an app.

Installation notes

Fit in accordance with current wiring regulations and the BYM2000 installation manual. Grid connection in the UK requires G98 compliance, and installation must be carried out by a qualified MCS-accredited installer. Allow adequate airflow around the enclosure despite the IP67 rating.
