The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 250/60-Tr is a solar charge controller built for off-grid and battery-based installations. It accepts panel voltage up to 250V open-circuit and delivers up to 60A of charge current, working with 12V, 24V or 48V battery banks. Built-in Bluetooth lets you configure and monitor the unit directly from the VictronConnect app.

The 250V maximum PV input allows longer panel strings, cutting cable losses and giving more flexibility when laying out an array. At 60A, the charge output covers off-grid setups from small cabins through to larger 48V systems. The Tr designation marks the screw terminal connection used for permanent wiring.

Applications

Suited to off-grid residential systems, remote cabins and agricultural buildings without a grid connection. The Bluetooth monitoring and high-voltage PV input also make it a fit for marine and narrowboat installs, motorhome conversions with larger arrays, and telecom or industrial off-grid systems using VE.Direct integration with a GX device.

Battery chemistry and monitoring

The controller runs configurable charge profiles for flooded, AGM, gel and lithium (LiFePO4) batteries, and its MPPT algorithm tracks the array's power point through shading and temperature changes. An integrated load output allows DC loads to be wired directly to the controller with programmable control.
