How it works

The Filax 2 monitors the primary AC source continuously. If that source fails or moves outside acceptable parameters, the unit transfers the load to the secondary source automatically, then switches back once the primary source is restored. This is the behaviour needed where an inverter or generator backs up a shore or grid supply.

Its dual voltage and frequency rating means a single unit covers a 230V/50Hz system in the UK or Europe and a 240V/60Hz system elsewhere. That flexibility matters most in marine and mobile applications, where the local supply standard can change with location.

Installation notes

Fit the Filax 2 only with a qualified electrician familiar with AC distribution and transfer switching. Incorrect wiring of a transfer switch can cause back-feeding, equipment damage or a safety risk. For grid-connected UK installations, check the system design against G98 or G99 as applicable, and isolate all AC sources before working on the unit or its wiring.
