Product overview

Standard AGM batteries lose capacity after a limited number of deep discharge cycles. The Super Cycle range uses a modified plate design and electrolyte formulation that allows discharge to lower states of charge without the same plate sulphation. That makes it a practical fit for solar systems drawn down overnight or through poor weather.

Usable capacity depends on the depth of discharge limit set by the charge controller or inverter. Victron recommends pairing Super Cycle batteries with compatible Victron chargers to get the most from the cycle life. As a sealed VRLA battery, there's no topping up of electrolyte required, and it can be installed indoors in a ventilated enclosure. It isn't intended for float-only standby duty, where lithium or gel chemistry would suit better.

Installation notes

Have this battery installed and connected by a competent electrician or qualified installer familiar with DC battery systems. Set the charging source to the correct voltage profile for AGM batteries, not one intended for gel or lithium chemistries. Install in a ventilated space and avoid inverting the battery in use. On systems forming part of a grid-connected installation, wiring and protection devices should comply with BS 7671 and any applicable DNO requirements.
