This Victron VE.Direct Cable runs 5m between two VE.Direct ports, with one straight connector and one right angle connector. It carries data only, connecting Victron devices for monitoring, configuration and communication rather than power transfer.

Applications

Use it to link a SmartSolar MPPT controller to a Cerbo GX or other Venus OS device, or to connect a BMV battery monitor to a VE.Direct to USB interface for PC monitoring. It also works for integrating a Phoenix inverter into a VE.Direct chain, and for connecting VE.Direct devices to a Raspberry Pi running Venus OS. The right angle end keeps the cable tidy in off-grid and marine installations where a device sits close to a panel face and a straight connector would place lateral stress on the port.

Installation notes

The cable carries data only, so no fusing or electrical isolation is needed. Keep both VE.Direct ports free of debris before connecting, and seat the keyed connectors without forcing them. Secure the cable run to avoid long-term strain on the ports. Any related inverter, battery or solar PV wiring should still be done by a qualified installer.
