Product overview

VE.Direct is Victron's point-to-point serial communication interface. It carries data and, on some devices, a small supply voltage, transmitting real-time operating data such as state of charge, voltage, current, and fault codes between devices. It is the standard wiring method for connecting BMV monitors, MPPT controllers, and Phoenix inverters to a GX device or a laptop running VictronConnect.

This 5m length is the longest standard VE.Direct cable in the Victron range, suited to installations where the charge controller, battery monitor, or inverter sits at a distance from the GX device or monitoring panel. The right length avoids coiling excess cable and removes the need for custom fabrication.

Installation notes

Power down both devices before connecting or disconnecting VE.Direct cables; the port is not designed for hot-swapping under load. Route cables away from high-current DC wiring to avoid interference. Each VE.Direct port supports one connection at a time, so multiple devices connecting to a single GX unit each need their own port or a dedicated USB adapter.
