The Victron temperature sensor is a plug-in accessory for the BMV-702 and BMV-712 battery monitors. It connects to the monitor's accessory port and adds battery temperature measurement to the existing voltage, current and state-of-charge readings.

Applications

Useful on off-grid solar systems where battery temperature shifts with the seasons, and on marine or motorhome installations where ambient conditions vary. Lead-acid battery banks benefit most, since charge acceptance and capacity change with temperature. Fit it to any BMV-702 or BMV-712 installation where temperature monitoring is wanted.

Installation

The sensor plugs into the monitor's accessory port with no wiring changes beyond connecting it to the battery terminal and the port itself. Check the port is not already used by a midpoint voltage sensor or other accessory before fitting. Work on battery systems should be carried out with care, and a qualified installer is recommended for larger off-grid or marine banks.
