System integration

The VE.Can interface sets this model apart from the standard SmartSolar range. It lets the controller talk directly to Victron GX devices, other VE.Can charge controllers and compatible inverter-chargers on a shared CAN bus, giving centralised monitoring, coordinated charging and data logging through the VRM portal. Multiple units can be networked together on the same VE.Can bus for scaled-up charging in larger systems. Bluetooth remains available for local configuration and firmware updates from a phone or tablet.

Installation notes

This controller handles DC voltages up to 150V and significant charge currents, so it should be installed by a qualified electrician or accredited solar installer. Correct cable sizing, fusing and earthing matter, and VE.Can network wiring needs proper termination resistors at each end of the bus. Configuration runs through the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth or via a connected GX device.
