Product overview

Because it uses LiFePO4 cells, the Peak Power Pack sits at a nominal 12.8V rather than the 12V typical of lead-acid. Existing 12V Victron chargers and inverter-chargers set to a lithium profile will charge it correctly. The flat discharge curve of LiFePO4 keeps the battery close to its rated voltage through most of its cycle, which suits inverters and DC loads that are sensitive to voltage drop.

The built-in BMS removes the need to source or wire an external protection board. It manages the conditions that shorten lithium battery life: overcharge, deep discharge, excessive current draw. At 7.25kg it is lighter than an equivalent lead-acid battery, which matters in campervans, narrowboats and other weight-sensitive installations. The sealed enclosure also allows mounting orientations that flooded lead-acid batteries would not tolerate.

Installation notes

Charge using a charger or charge controller set to a lithium (LiFePO4) profile. A standard lead-acid profile risks overcharging the cells and will void the warranty. Secure the unit against movement in vehicles or vessels and allow ventilation around the enclosure. Fit a suitably rated fuse close to the battery terminal even though the BMS provides protection. For solar integration, installation by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer is recommended.
