Why isolation matters

A shared ground between two battery systems lets faults, leakage currents and noise travel between them. The Orion-Tr's transformer-based isolation removes that path. This is relevant to split charging on vehicles with sensitive electronics, marine installations with corrosion concerns, and industrial systems where isolated circuits are a safety requirement.

Keeping 48V on both sides looks unusual for a converter, but it lets the unit take a 48V source that varies under load or during charging and turn it into a stable, regulated 48V output. Downstream equipment then sees consistent voltage regardless of the source battery's state of charge.
