Product overview

The Orion-Tr range uses a transformer-based topology for true galvanic isolation. That matters in dual-battery vehicle setups, where the chassis ground of a secondary system should not be tied directly to the starter battery circuit. On boats it also reduces the risk of stray current corrosion from shared ground paths.

At 400W and 17A, this unit can charge a 24V auxiliary bank from a 24V house or vehicle supply at a useful rate. The adjustable output lets it be set for flooded, AGM or lithium batteries during commissioning. It has no Bluetooth interface or load output control; for those, Victron's Orion-Tr Smart range is the alternative.

Additional units of the same model can be paralleled to scale total output current, a common way to add capacity in larger vehicle or marine builds where space for one bigger converter isn't available.

Installation notes
