The Orion-Tr range uses a transformer-based topology for true galvanic isolation between input and output. That matters when linking two independent battery systems, or when powering 24V equipment from a 12V source in a vehicle or vessel where a shared ground could cause interference, corrosion or safety concerns. The isolation barrier also shields downstream equipment from voltage spikes on the input side.

At 120W output, the unit is suited to moderate 24V loads: communication equipment, control panels, instrumentation, or secondary battery charging from a 12V source bank. Output voltage stays regulated across the input range, useful given how battery voltage moves during charge and discharge.

This is a fixed-voltage converter without remote on/off control or programmable output adjustment. Victron's Orion-Tr Smart range covers those needs instead. Installation is straightforward, but correct cable sizing and fusing on both input and output sides matters given the current levels involved.
