The Victron MultiPlus 12/3000/120-50 pairs a true sine wave inverter with a multi-stage battery charger in one unit. Built for 12V battery banks, it delivers 3000VA of continuous AC output at 230V with a 6000W peak surge rating, making it a practical inverter charger for off-grid, marine and vehicle power systems.

Battery charger inverter for 12V systems

Rather than running an inverter and a charger as separate boxes, the MultiPlus does both jobs from one enclosure. The inverter side produces a clean 230V AC sine wave from the battery bank, while the 120A charger uses Victron's adaptive four-stage algorithm to adjust charge current to the battery's condition. It's configured for common chemistries including flooded, gel and AGM lead-acid, plus lithium-ion.

PowerControl and PowerAssist

On a limited shore power or generator connection, PowerControl caps the total AC current drawn and pulls extra power from the battery when demand spikes. PowerAssist goes further, boosting a small AC source with battery power so it can run loads larger than its own rating would normally allow. Both are useful on boats limited to a fixed shore power amperage, or on sites running a small generator.

System integration

Up to six MultiPlus units can be linked over VE.Bus for higher capacity or three-phase output. Pairing with a Victron GX device, such as a Cerbo GX, brings full monitoring through the VRM portal, and configuration is handled through VEConfigure and VictronConnect.
