The Victron MultiPlus 24/800/16-16 combines an inverter, a battery charger and an AC transfer switch in one unit. It runs on a 24V battery bank and delivers 230V AC output, making it suited to off-grid installations, marine and vehicle systems, and backup power setups where space is limited.

How it works

When an external AC source is present, the MultiPlus passes power through to connected loads while charging the battery bank at the same time. If that AC source drops out, the transfer switch takes over in under 20 milliseconds, so critical loads stay powered.

Units can be paralleled or set up for split-phase operation over VE.Bus, and the whole system can be monitored and reconfigured remotely through a Victron GX device such as the Cerbo GX, or via VEConfigure software using a VE.Bus to USB interface.

Installation notes

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer familiar with DC battery systems and 230V AC wiring. DC cable sizing and fusing between the battery bank and the unit matters given the high currents at 24V. VE.Bus configuration needs VEConfigure software with a VE.Bus to USB interface cable, or a compatible Victron GX device.
