Product overview

Victron MPPT Tr controllers in the 150 and 250 VE.Can series carry high DC currents at the battery terminals. Left exposed after wiring, those terminals present a contact risk and can conflict with site safety rules. The WireBox-XL Tr clips over the terminal area once cables are dressed and connected, forming a physical barrier without affecting the ventilation or thermal behaviour of the controller.

This WireBox is model-specific. The XL Tr variant matches the larger footprint of the 85A and 100A Tr VE.Can controllers and will not fit the standard, non-Tr MPPT housing. Installers working across several MPPT models should check they have the right WireBox variant before ordering.

Installation notes

Fit the WireBox-XL Tr only after all DC cables have been connected and dressed at the charge controller terminals, and isolate the charge controller before making or adjusting any wiring. Installation of MPPT charge controllers and their DC wiring should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer familiar with high-current DC systems. For grid-connected solar PV systems in the UK, G98 or G99 compliance requirements apply to the wider system design.
