Product overview
MEGA fuses are a common format in automotive, marine and off-grid solar DC systems. The blade-style body fits into a dedicated MEGA fuseholder, giving a serviceable point of overcurrent protection on the main positive cable between battery and load or inverter. At 500A, this fuse suits the highest-draw DC equipment, including large Victron Quattro and MultiPlus inverter/chargers where cable protection at the battery terminals is required.
The 80V DC rating gives headroom above nominal 48V battery voltages, including lithium systems that may reach 58V or higher at full charge. This suits the fuse to common battery chemistries and voltages used in off-grid, marine and vehicle installations. The cable cross-section, terminals and fuseholder must all be rated to carry 500A continuously before fitting.
