Product overview

MEGA-fuses are a common format for protecting DC circuits carrying high continuous currents at relatively low voltages. The 80V rating spans the common battery bank voltages, including 48V nominal systems that can rise higher during charging. At 100A, this fuse suits main battery cables, inverter feeds and DC distribution connections sized for that current.

The MEGA format uses a bolted or clamped connection rather than a push-in blade, so it holds up better under vibration and thermal cycling than smaller blade fuse types. Installation notes

Fit MEGA-fuses only in a compatible MEGA fuseholder rated for the intended current and voltage, and check that cabling is rated for 100A continuous DC current before wiring. DC work on battery systems carries a risk of arc flash and short-circuit injury, so installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or competent person. Where a system connects to a solar PV array or grid-tied inverter, relevant UK wiring regulations and G98/G99 requirements should be followed by a suitably qualified installer.
