Product overview

LiFePO4 cells are among the more thermally stable lithium chemistries in common use, which is one reason this pack turns up in boat cabins, camper vans and off-grid cabins. Unlike lead-acid batteries, LiFePO4 cells do not emit hydrogen gas while charging and do not need the same ventilation arrangements.

The built-in BMS handles cell balancing and protection on its own, so no separate battery management hardware is needed for basic use. A 12.8V nominal voltage sits comfortably within standard 12V system architecture, including solar charge controllers, DC-DC converters and 12V inverters. At 30Ah the pack suits moderate loads over longer periods, or heavier loads over shorter ones.

Installation notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician or system integrator familiar with lithium battery systems. Check that the charging source supports LiFePO4 charge profiles before connecting, rather than an AGM, gel or standard lead-acid profile. On solar-connected systems, confirm the charge controller has a lithium battery setting. The BMS covers cell-level protection; correct fusing and cable sizing at system level remain the installer's responsibility.
