Gel electrolyte is held in a silica gel matrix rather than as free liquid, which prevents stratification and reduces water loss. This helps cyclic service life compared with conventional wet-cell batteries. The sealed build allows installation on its side if space demands it, though upright remains preferred.

At 90Ah it fits small-to-medium off-grid systems, solar storage banks, narrowboat and marine house battery setups, and backup power installations. Gel batteries should not routinely be discharged below 50% depth of discharge, and charge settings must match gel chemistry: an AGM or flooded profile will shorten battery life. Victron MPPT charge controllers and MultiPlus inverter-chargers include a dedicated gel profile.
