Victron's MPPT algorithm tracks the peak power point of the array continuously, adjusting as panel temperature or shading shifts that point rather than sitting at a fixed voltage. This tends to pull more energy from the same array than a PWM controller, particularly in cooler and changeable weather. The 100V PV input allows for small series-connected panel strings without stepping up to a higher-voltage MPPT unit, and the VE.Direct port lets the controller integrate with Victron's GX monitoring devices, including the Color Control GX and Venus GX.

Installation notes

Fitting should be done by a qualified electrician or experienced solar installer. The PV array's open-circuit voltage must stay under 100V in all conditions, including cold weather, which raises open-circuit voltage. Battery chemistry settings need to be confirmed before commissioning, and for lithium banks the battery management system compatibility should be checked first. This unit is not intended for grid-tied use.
