The Blue Smart IP65 range adds a weatherproof enclosure to Victron's standard Blue Smart chargers. That rating means the 12/15 can be mounted in a vehicle, a boat's engine bay, or a partially exposed outbuilding without a separate protective housing, and it delivers 15A to a single 12V battery, suiting medium to large banks in leisure vehicles, marine setups and off-grid backup systems.

The VictronConnect app shows charge stage, battery voltage, charge current and history, and lets you pick or customise battery presets. The seven-stage algorithm runs bulk, absorption, float and storage phases with an automatic recondition cycle for lead-acid batteries. It will not attempt to charge a battery discharged beyond recovery thresholds, and includes short-circuit and reverse polarity protection.

Installation notes

Connect to a standard 230V AC supply via the supplied CEE 7/16 plug, protected by an appropriately rated fuse or circuit breaker. Wire the DC output with correct polarity; the unit has reverse polarity protection, but incorrect wiring should still be avoided. Secure the unit to a fixed surface with the mounting points provided and allow adequate ventilation. When integrating with an inverter or solar charge controller, have a qualified electrician verify the overall system design.
