The Victron Blue Smart IP65 12/4 is a single-output battery charger rated at 12V 4A, built for lead-acid and lithium batteries in vehicles, boats, caravans and off-grid setups. The IP65 enclosure copes with damp or dusty conditions, and built-in Bluetooth links straight to the VictronConnect app for monitoring and configuration.

Product overview
The fully sealed housing suits engine bays, outbuildings and marine environments where an unrated charger would struggle. At 4A the charger suits batteries in the 14Ah to 100Ah range: motorcycles, small leisure vehicles, caravans and backup systems. All charge parameters can be viewed and adjusted over Bluetooth via VictronConnect, so there's no separate interface cable to carry.
The unit ships with a CEE 7/16 Europlug, the two-pin plug standard across continental Europe. It does not fit a UK three-pin socket, so UK buyers will need a suitable adaptor. The DC output uses a pre-fitted connector rather than bare leads.

Installation notes
Connect the DC output to the battery before the mains supply. The 230V AC input needs a CEE 7/16 to BS 1363 adaptor for UK sockets. Mount the charger somewhere ventilated and away from fuel sources on vehicles or marine craft. Basic charging needs no electrical qualification, but permanent wiring into a vehicle or vessel should go to a competent electrician or marine engineer.
