Product overview

AGM batteries absorb the electrolyte into a fibreglass mat separator rather than holding it as free liquid. This makes them spill-proof, reduces gassing under normal charging and lets the battery be mounted on its side or end if the installation calls for it. The valve-regulated design means no periodic water top-up, useful in remote or unattended sites.

The C20 rating measures the 8Ah capacity over a 20-hour discharge period. Drawing current faster than this reduces usable capacity, which is normal for lead-acid chemistry. For small solar systems, alarm panels, UPS units and similar low-draw uses, 8Ah C20 is a realistic working figure. At 2.32 kg it is easy to handle and transport without lifting equipment.

This battery works directly with Victron charge controllers and inverter-chargers, and the standard 12V AGM chemistry is also compatible with any charger set to an appropriate AGM profile. Correct charge voltage settings matter for cycle life.

Installation notes
