The 48/250 runs on a 48V nominal battery input, the preferred voltage for larger off-grid and backup systems because it brings lower cable losses and reduced current draw than 12V or 24V equivalents. The VE.Direct port lets the inverter talk to Victron's ecosystem, including the Color Control GX, Cerbo GX and the VictronConnect app via a VE.Direct to USB or Bluetooth dongle. That gives real-time monitoring of input voltage, output load and alarm status without extra hardware beyond the communication cable.

Installation notes

This inverter connects directly to a 48V DC battery bank. DC wiring must be sized correctly for the current draw and protected with a suitably rated fuse or circuit breaker close to the battery. Installation should be carried out by someone competent with DC electrical systems, and a qualified installer is recommended for integration into a wider solar or off-grid system. This unit is not grid-tied and does not require G98 or G99 notification. The SCHUKO output is not a standard UK BS1363 socket, so a suitable adaptor is needed for UK plug types.
