Product overview

This is the entry-level unit in Victron's non-isolated Orion-Tr series, built on a switch-mode topology rather than a linear regulator. It suits lower-power 12V loads such as instrumentation, lighting circuits, control electronics or small accessories drawing from a 24V battery bank.

Because it is non-isolated, the negative terminals of input and output are connected internally. That's fine for most vehicles, caravans, motorhomes and boats sharing a common ground. Where galvanic isolation between the two voltage rails is needed, the isolated Orion-Tr variant is the right choice instead.

Installation notes

Fit this by a competent 12/24V DC electrician or auto-electrician familiar with vehicle or marine wiring. Fuse the input wiring close to the source battery. Since this is a non-isolated unit, don't use it where input and output grounds must stay separate. Check that the 60W rating covers the intended load, and leave room around the unit for ventilation.
