Product overview

This model sits at the top of Victron's 12V inverter range. A 3000W load at 12V draws in excess of 250A from the battery, so cabling, fusing and battery capacity all need to be matched to that discharge rate to avoid excessive voltage drop.

The Smart designation refers to the integrated Bluetooth, allowing direct communication with VictronConnect. Installers can adjust low battery shutdown voltage, alarm thresholds and search mode without a separate interface cable, which helps during commissioning in confined vehicle or marine spaces.

Installation notes

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or accredited installer. DC cable runs must be kept short and rated for sustained currents above 250A, with an appropriately rated DC fuse or breaker fitted close to the battery. The inverter is not grid-connected and does not require G98 or G99 notification, but AC output wiring must comply with BS 7671 regulations. Size the battery bank to support the expected load duration without triggering low-voltage shutdown.
