Product overview

VE.Can is Victron's implementation of the CAN-bus protocol, used to link inverter/chargers, MPPT charge controllers, the Cerbo GX and other devices in a Victron system. When a third-party lithium battery uses a CAN-bus BMS, that BMS needs to pass state of charge, cell voltage limits and charge/discharge parameters to the Victron system. This cable carries that link.

The Type A designation refers to the pinout on the BMS connector end. Not every CAN-bus BMS uses the same pinout, so check the BMS type before ordering. Type A appears on a number of common lithium battery brands, but always confirm against the BMS documentation first.

Used to connect third-party CAN-bus BMS lithium batteries to Victron VE.Can networks, in off-grid and hybrid solar installations pairing Victron inverter/chargers with non-Victron batteries.
