The VE.Direct Bluetooth Smart dongle adds wireless monitoring to any Victron device fitted with a VE.Direct port. It plugs straight into the port and pairs with the free VictronConnect app on iOS or Android, giving installers and owners live access to device data without running a cable.

Applications

Useful for commissioning MPPT solar charge controllers on a new installation, or checking a BMV battery monitor in an off-grid cabin, caravan or boat without carrying a laptop. It also suits fault-finding on remote equipment and temporary monitoring where a permanent GX device isn't fitted.

Installation notes

The dongle occupies the VE.Direct port fully, so it can't be used at the same time as a VE.Direct to USB cable or a GX device connection on that same port. For permanent monitoring alongside a GX device, a Victron GX product with built-in Bluetooth or a VE.Direct to USB interface may suit better. Power down the host device before connecting or disconnecting where possible.
