Product overview

Ginlong Solis has manufactured solar inverters since 2005 and is one of the larger inverter producers worldwide. The S6 series is its current residential platform, aimed at UK and European grid-connected installations. The dual MPPT strings are managed independently, so shaded or differently-angled arrays can still be handled by one unit. The AFCI function watches the DC circuit continuously and isolates a string if it detects an arc fault. The EPM lets an installer curtail export to a set level where a DNO connection agreement requires it.

Installation and safety notes

Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer. G98 notification or G99 application to the DNO is required before connecting to the grid in the UK. DC isolators, AC protection, surge protection and earthing must meet BS 7671 and the relevant MCS installation standard. This is not a DIY-connection product.
