The Solis S6-EH1P5K-L-PLUS is a 5kW single phase hybrid inverter built for residential solar and battery storage systems. It handles 32A MPPT input current, so it works with current high-output solar modules, and it is G98 and G99 compliant and MCS certified for UK grid connection. A Wi-Fi dongle and energy meter come included as standard.

This model replaces the well known S5 5kW, with new communication and power terminals for safer, faster and more reliable operation, an improved die-cast aluminium case, and new menu features including support for heat pumps and other special loads.

Operation modes and connectivity

The inverter runs on-grid, hybrid or off-grid, with zero-export mode supported and an independent generator interface. Units can be paralleled up to 48kW combined output. Monitoring runs through SolisCloud via the included Wi-Fi dongle.

Tariff optimisation and backup

The 6-stage timed charge and discharge function lets the battery charge overnight from the grid at lower tariff rates, then discharge during peak hours, working alongside time-of-use tariffs such as Octopus Agile or Economy 7 without manual intervention. The sub-4ms backup switching keeps computers, NAS devices and other sensitive equipment running through a grid outage, with the dual backup ports letting critical loads draw on battery capacity ahead of non-essential circuits.

Installation notes
