The Victron SolarSense 750 is a self-powered wireless monitor that measures solar irradiance, estimated available PV power and panel temperature in real time. It links to the VictronConnect app, the VRM portal and Node-RED, so the data can be read manually or fed into automated load control.

In off-grid and grid-limited systems, an MPPT or inverter only tells you what the array is currently producing. The SolarSense 750 tells you what it could produce, which is a more useful figure when deciding whether to switch on an extra load.

Applications

Suited to off-grid systems with battery storage and hybrid or grid-limited installations where excess PV energy would otherwise go unused once the battery is full. Knowing the available power lets a water heater, pump or other opportunity load switch on at the right moment rather than drawing from grid or generator later.

Commissioning and diagnostics

Comparing measured irradiance against actual MPPT output makes shading problems, panel degradation or incorrect orientation easier to identify without extra test equipment.

Bluetooth range note

Metal panel frames and roofing materials can reduce BLE range, so position the unit with this in mind during installation.

Installation notes

Mount on or near the PV array in a position representing the panels' solar exposure. No external power connection is needed. Configuration is done via the VictronConnect app over Bluetooth. Professional installation is recommended for solar PV systems.
