The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/45 is a solar charge controller rated for a 150V open-circuit input voltage and 45A charge current. It suits off-grid and battery-based solar installations where accurate maximum power point tracking and remote monitoring matter.

Connectivity and control

Bluetooth is built into the unit, so no external dongle is needed for VictronConnect. From the app, installers set battery type and charge voltages, configure the load output, view live power data and download yield logs. A VE.Direct port allows integration with a Victron Cerbo GX or other GX device for monitoring through the VRM portal.

Load output

The load output is a switched 45A output that can be programmed for control modes including battery voltage-based switching and timer-based lighting control, removing the need for a separate load controller in smaller systems. The enclosure weighs 1.4kg and suits panel or wall mounting in a protected or weatherproof location.

Installation notes

Installation should be carried out by a qualified electrician or experienced solar installer. String design must keep the PV open-circuit voltage within the 150V limit even in cold conditions. Set the correct battery chemistry and charge profile in VictronConnect before commissioning. A VE.Direct cable is needed separately for GX monitoring integration. This is not a grid-tied device and does not require G98 or G99 notification.
