The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 100/15 is a solar charge controller for small to medium off-grid systems. It accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 100V and delivers up to 15A of charge current, suiting 12V and 24V battery systems. Built-in Bluetooth lets you configure and monitor the unit from a phone without any extra hardware.

How MPPT tracking helps

An MPPT controller adjusts the operating point of the solar array continuously, pulling more usable energy from the panels than a PWM controller managing the same array. The 100V input rating gives some flexibility when stringing panels, which matters in cold weather when open-circuit voltage rises above its rated figure.

Monitoring and control

Bluetooth means no separate dongle is needed. Through VictronConnect you can set battery type and charge voltages, configure the load output, and check live data or yield history from a phone or tablet. Pairing with a Victron GX device such as the Cerbo GX extends this to full system monitoring through the VRM portal.

Installation notes

Fitting should be done by a competent electrician or solar installer. Keep the array's open-circuit voltage under 100V at all times, including during cold-weather Voc rises. Size cabling and fusing to the charge current rating and applicable wiring regulations. For lithium batteries, check the BMS is compatible with the charge profiles available in VictronConnect. The load output is not intended for AC or unprotected inductive loads.
