Product overview

This inlet is the fixed connection point on the vessel or vehicle side of a shore power hookup. Once a shore cable is plugged in, mains AC feeds through to the onboard distribution system, usually via a shore power isolator, RCD or an inverter/charger such as a Victron MultiPlus or Quattro. The polyamide body suits damp or outdoor locations where a metal fitting isn't wanted.

The 2P/3W wiring carries one live conductor, a neutral and a protective earth, the standard arrangement for single-phase 16A shore connections in leisure marine and caravan use across the UK and EU. A hinged cover keeps the socket face clean and dry when the shore cable is disconnected.

Installation notes

This inlet carries mains AC voltage and should be fitted by a qualified electrician or competent marine/vehicle electrical engineer. Leisure craft wiring should follow the relevant BS EN ISO marine electrical standards; caravans and motorhomes should follow BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and applicable leisure vehicle standards. The inlet must be correctly earthed as part of the 2P/3W circuit, and the cover kept closed whenever the shore cable isn't connected.
