The Conversol VM4 is a 5.6kW pure sine wave off grid solar inverter charger for 48V DC battery banks. It pairs a 120A MPPT solar charger, rated for up to 6kW of PV input, with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth monitoring, a 4.3-inch colour touchscreen and BMS communication for Pylontech, Leoch, Fogstar and other compatible lithium batteries.

Design details

The VM4 is the fourth generation of the Voltacon off-grid inverter platform, adding a colour touchscreen, Bluetooth and USB On-the-Go support over earlier models. Because it can operate without a connected battery bank, it can supply daytime AC loads from the solar array before a storage system is fully installed. The 120A MPPT charger can also be scheduled to top up batteries from grid or generator power during off-peak tariff periods.

Applications

Suited to off-grid homes, cabins and workshops, agricultural and rural sites running on Pylontech or lead-acid batteries, and backup power systems combining solar and battery storage. It also fits installations that need solar operation from day one, ahead of battery storage being fitted.

Installation and safety

This inverter must be installed by a qualified electrician or solar installer. Battery systems need to comply with BS EN 62619 and local building regulations, with correct cable sizing, fusing, isolators and earthing. It is not suitable for DIY installation.
