Product overview

The Easy Plan 3M system uses a bonding technology developed for photovoltaic mounting on metal roofs, sandwich panels, gel coat surfaces, and TPO/PVC membranes. The 3M adhesive tape is pre-applied to the underside of each 195mm aluminium profile. Once the surface is primed and prepared, the profiles bond permanently without a single hole being made, keeping the roof membrane's waterproofing intact.

The bond is rated to withstand heat, moisture and mechanical stress. 3M Primer 94, sold separately, is strongly recommended for metal surfaces, improving adhesion under thermal cycling and wind loads. It is not compulsory but is advised for durability.

Applications

Suited to solar PV on metal sheet and sandwich panel roofs where drilling isn't permitted, and to flat or low-pitch commercial roofs with TPO or PVC membranes. Anywhere preserving the roof's waterproofing is critical, this system avoids puncturing the surface entirely.

Installation and safety notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified solar installer. The surface must be clean, dry and free of contamination before bonding, and full cure time must be allowed before panels are loaded. Wind uplift loads should be calculated for the specific site and checked against the 3M bond specification.
