The Victron SmartSolar MPPT 150/100-Tr VE.Can is a high-current charge controller built for large off-grid, marine and commercial solar installations. It accepts a maximum PV open-circuit voltage of 150V and delivers up to 100A of charge current, with a VE.Can interface that ties it into a wider Victron system network alongside inverter/chargers and GX devices.

The VE.Can bus lets the controller communicate with Cerbo GX, Quattro and MultiPlus inverter/chargers on the same network, and multiple 150/100-Tr units can run in parallel with synchronised charging. Remote monitoring is handled through the Victron VRM portal, with configuration available over Bluetooth via VictronConnect or through a GX device on the VE.Can network.

Installation notes

Fitting should be carried out by a qualified electrician or MCS-accredited installer, as the unit operates at voltages that carry a serious shock risk if wired incorrectly. PV string open-circuit voltage must not exceed 150V under any temperature condition. For lithium installations, check that the battery BMS matches the charge profile set in VictronConnect. The VE.Can bus needs correct termination at both ends, and grid-connected hybrid systems must meet G98 or G99 requirements as applicable.
