This Victron MC4-Y solar splitter pair lets you wire two solar panels in parallel right at the array, without a separate combiner box or extra cable runs back to the controller. How it works

The M-2F half splits the positive conductor from one panel into two branches, while the F-2M half does the same on the negative side, so both poles are joined in parallel using parts from the same manufacturer. This keeps contact resistance and weatherproofing consistent across both connections, rather than mixing brands of Y-connector at each pole.

Applications

Suited to parallel wiring of two panels with identical voltage and current ratings, on residential rooftops, off-grid arrays, marine and motorhome systems, or when adding a second panel to an existing single-panel string. Connecting panels of different ratings in parallel is not recommended.

Installation notes

MC4 connectors need proper crimping and assembly tools for a weatherproof, low-resistance joint; poor assembly can cause arcing or water ingress. On grid-connected UK systems, installation should be carried out by a qualified installer in line with G98/G99 and wiring regulations.
