The JA Solar JAM72D40-600/MB is a 600W bifacial N-type double glass solar panel built for commercial rooftops, ground mount arrays and large-scale solar installations. Bifacial cells capture light from both the front and rear surfaces, adding extra energy yield on reflective surfaces such as light-coloured roofing membranes, concrete and open ground. The double glass construction replaces the usual plastic backsheet with a second tempered glass layer, giving better moisture resistance over the panel's life.

Applications

At 600W, each panel produces more power per module than standard 450W to 465W panels of similar size, which cuts the number of panels, rails and labour hours needed for a given roof area or ground mount. Rear-side gain from the bifacial cells is greatest on ground mounts and flat membrane roofs, where reflected light from below is consistent; on pitched roofs with dark tiles the rear gain is minimal. N-type cell chemistry gives lower long-term degradation than P-type modules of similar output.

Suited to commercial and industrial rooftops, ground-mounted arrays and solar farms, agricultural buildings and large barn roofs, and flat roofs with reflective membranes.

Installation notes

At 31.8kg and 2278mm long, this panel needs two installers for safe handling. String voltage in cold conditions must be checked against the inverter's maximum DC input, and the panel's maximum system voltage is 1500V DC. Fitting should be carried out by a qualified MCS-accredited solar installer.
