This 18W LED gear tray is a direct retrofit for 28W and 36W fluorescent 2D CFL lamps, built to fit into existing round ceiling and wall fittings. It combines everyday LED lighting with a built-in emergency battery, so one tray does the job that used to need two separate systems.

LED gear tray with emergency backup

An emergency driver and a 3.6V lithium-ion battery sit inside the tray. In normal use the LED board runs from the wall switch as usual. If the mains supply cuts out, the unit switches to emergency mode and keeps running for up to 3 hours, which suits corridors, stairwells, entrances and other spaces where emergency lighting is a requirement.

Retrofit installation

The metallic tray is designed to install into round ceiling or wall luminaires that previously held a 2D fluorescent lamp, letting installers upgrade the light source without replacing the whole fitting. The 4-way terminal block is there to keep the mains connection straightforward for electricians and maintenance teams working on retrofit jobs.

Applications
