Product overview

The non-isolated topology suits the majority of vehicle and marine installations where the chassis or hull forms a shared negative. Where input and output circuits must be kept electrically separate, Victron's isolated Orion-Tr range is the appropriate choice instead. For standard 24V to 12V step-down duties on a shared-ground system, this non-isolated design is the more efficient option.

IP20 means protection against solid objects greater than 12mm, with no water or dust ingress protection. Install it in a dry, enclosed location such as a battery compartment, equipment locker or control panel enclosure. It is not suitable for direct exposure to moisture, spray or condensation.

Installation notes

Fit this unit in a dry, enclosed location in line with its IP20 rating. Fuse the input wiring close to the source battery or busbar. The non-isolated design requires a shared negative between the 24V input and 12V output circuits, so it is not suitable where galvanic isolation is required. Size cabling for the 30A output current and allow adequate ventilation around the unit for heat dissipation.
