These 6V cells are normally wired in series rather than used alone. Two in series make a 12V bank, four make 24V and eight make 48V, each string carrying the full 240Ah C20 rating. This is a common way to build larger banks for off-grid and marine use, where several smaller 12V units would otherwise be needed.

Charging

AGM chemistry works with a standard three-stage bulk, absorption and float charge profile. On Victron charge controllers and inverter-chargers, select the AGM preset or a matching custom voltage profile. Overcharging is the main cause of early AGM failure, and because the cells are sealed, any gas lost during overcharge cannot be replaced.

Installation notes

Fit and wire this battery with the help of a qualified electrician or experienced solar installer. Batteries connected in series or parallel should be matched for type, age and state of charge before connection. Use AGM charge settings on every connected source, never a gel or wet-cell profile, and provide ventilation even though the cells are sealed, since a fault can cause venting.
