The Voltacon Sparky is a 22kW three phase electric vehicle charger with a Type 2 connector (IEC 62196-2), delivering up to 32A per phase. It is certified for the UK market and includes integrated PEN fault protection, so no separate earthing rod is needed. RFID card access and app-based monitoring come as standard, backed by a 5-year warranty.

Applications
The Sparky 22kW suits commercial car parks, workplaces and residential properties with a three phase electricity supply, as well as fleet charging facilities. At 22kW it offers the maximum AC charging speed available on a standard three phase supply, and works with any Type 2 vehicle including those that accept three phase charging.
How PEN protection works
PEN fault protection monitors for earth-neutral faults on the incoming supply and interrupts charging before a fault voltage can reach the vehicle or user. This avoids the need for a separate earth rod, which can simplify commissioning on many commercial and residential installations.
Installation and safety notes
Installation must be carried out by a qualified electrician registered with a competent persons scheme. Wiring, earthing and protective devices need to comply with IET Wiring Regulations BS 7671. Check with your DNO for any notification requirements before installing an EV charger on your supply.
