High Efficiency

Adaptive 6-Stage Charge Algorithm
The Victron Smart charger features a 6-stage algorithm: test - bulk – absorption - recondition – float – storage. It also has a microprocessor-controlled ‘adaptive’ battery management, which allows for an optimised charging process in accordance to the way the battery is being used.

Storage Mode
To provide additional battery protection, the Victron Charger is backed with a storage mode, which kicks in whenever the battery has not been subjected to discharge during 24 hours. In the storage mode, float voltage is reduced to 2,2V/cell (13,2V for a 12V battery) to minimise gassing and corrosion of the positive plates. Once a week the voltage is raised back to the absorption level to ‘equalise’ the battery. This feature prevents stratification of the electrolyte and sulfation, a major cause of early battery failure.

Night and Low Setting
Charge efficiently and with zero disturbance using the Night or Low mode. In this setting, the output current is reduced to max. 25% of the nominal output and the charger operates without any noise. The Night mode automatically ends after 8 hours, while the Low mode can be ended manually.

Protected Against Overheating
There’s no need to worry about overheating while charging here. The Victron charger’s output current will reduce as temperature increases up to 50°C, without compromising the performance of the charger itself.

• Batteries connected in series should have the same amp-hour rating while batteries in parallel bank should have the same voltage rating.
• As much as possible, only connect batteries in series or parallel during emergency situations.
• It's better to go for batteries with higher voltage when running high-power electrical appliances instead of wiring two battery packs together.
