Description
The Victron Energy Orion IP67 24/12-10A is a fully encapsulated, waterproof non-isolated DC-DC converter delivering 10A of continuous output current at 12V from a 24V input, with cast aluminium construction, IP67 protection, and 1.8m pre-attached input and output cables for reliable voltage conversion in marine, automotive, and industrial applications.
Key Features:
- IP67 Fully Waterproof & Shockproof — Cast aluminium housing with electronics moulded in resin provides complete protection against water, oil, dirt, and shock — fully ignition protected and suitable for the most demanding installation environments.
- Extra-Long 1.8m Input and Output Cables — Pre-attached cables of 1.8 meters eliminate the need for intermediate connections in most installations, reducing potential failure points in areas where IP67 protection is required.
- Wide 15–40V Input Voltage Range — Stable 12V ±3% output is maintained across the full input range, accommodating voltage surges and sags caused by other equipment connected to the same 24V battery.
- Hiccup Mode Overload Protection — Automatically recovers after overload or fault conditions are removed without requiring manual reset, ensuring unattended reliability in remote installations.
- High Temperature Protected — Output current automatically derades 3% per °C above 40°C up to a maximum of 70°C without converter failure, suitable for hot machine room use.
The Orion IP67 24/12-10A converts a 15–40VDC input to a regulated 12V ±3% output at up to 10A continuous with 93% efficiency, with under-voltage shutdown at 13V and automatic restart at 14V. Ripple and noise is rated at 75mVpp, and the unit draws only 20mA at no load.
The converter is short-circuit proof and connects via pre-attached 1.5mm²/AWG15 input and output cables of 1.8m length. Reverse polarity protection requires an external fuse or circuit breaker, which is not included. The cast aluminium blue RAL 5012 enclosure is rated IP67 and vibration tested to IEC 68-2-6 at 10–150Hz / 1.0G for vehicle and vessel installations.
